Leafless Harmony
This tree clings to the side of a large sand dune on the edge of Lake Michigan, one of the worlds largest lakes. To an Australian, unaccustomed to such large bodies of fresh water, it seems more like an ocean but without the salty tang.
Evening was approaching as I found myself along the lakes edge. The shortest way back to civilisation was straight up the steep sided dune, but I had underestimated just how difficult that would be to climb. After thirty minutes I had only made it half way and that’s where I found this scene.
