Resilience, Mutawintji

Mutawintji, in outback New South Wales has seen its fair share of land degradation and cultural destruction, and that’s before I mention the hoards of goats still running wild, eating everything in their path and often dying of starvation or dehydration in the gullies.  They were released by land holders once upon a time and have completely changed the landscape.

The traditional owners used this place for gatherings and ceremonies until the white fella’s came along.  Some of their paintings are still present, but even they are being rubbed off by the goats.

This tree grows in the sandy floor of a rocky canyon, it reminds me of resilience in the land and a hope for the future.

About the prints:

I personally print and sign all my work.  Prints are made on cotton fine art media with pigment inks for the best possible longevity.  These prints can last many generations without visible changes in colour, testing shows 100-200 years+ is possible.

  • Fine art print:  A fine art print on archival cotton rag, wrapped and supplied in a tube.
  • Framed fine art print:  A fine Art Print mounted in a raw Australian Oak timber frame, with an archival off-white cotton rag mount.
  • Canvas print:  A print on high quality cotton, fine-art canvas, sprayed with a protective matte coating.  An additional five centimeter mirrored edge is provided for stretching over bars.   Wrapped and rolled in a tube.
  • Stretched canvas:  A fine-art cotton canvas print, already stretched and ready to hang.

Prints and frames can be customised.  If you need a specific print size, alternative frame type or a different canvas edge wrap colour, please just contact me with the request or make a note in the checkout.  Nothing extra will be charged other than what’s required to make the changes.  The price will be adjusted up or down if the difference is greater than 5%.

International orders:

Please contact me first if you’re considering the purchase of a framed print or stretched canvas from outside Australia.  I can’t easily send large frames overseas, it’s simply not very economical (but not impossible), rolled prints are much easier!

An additional postage charge will be required for all international orders, usually around $40 to $80 Australian dollars, depending on location. Prices shown are exclusive of any international import duties or taxes.
