Goat at Mutawintji

This goat lives among the canyons and rugged country of Mutawintji, in outback New South Wales.  The goats were introduced by pastoralists over a century ago.

Unfortunately they have thrived in the harsh conditions and overrun land.  They compete with native wildlife, destroy at-risk plant species and have literally rubbed Aboriginal cultural heritage off the walls.  Thousands are being captured each year in an attempt to control the numbers but the land will never be the same.
